On Saturday, I went to Great Moments in Timonium, MD where they were having a Paul Blair autograph signing. For those who aren’t big Orioles fans, Blair played 17 seasons in the majors (1964-1980), and the first 13 of those were playing CF with the Orioles. He also played in 6 World Series, 4 with the Orioles and 2 with the Yankees.
For this event, it was one free autograph per person and $10 for each additional. So while I had multiple cards that I would have liked to get signed, there was no way I would pay that. I’m actually lucky that I even knew about this event to attend because while I’ll check out autograph signings, I’ll generally ignore the ones at Great Moments because of the fees associated with them. But I happened to notice that this one was free, so I went to this one.
Hopefully, there will be some more signings soon so I can add to my collection, but I doubt I will be going to many more in 2011.
I remember Paul Blair. Pretty sure he won a few Gold Gloves. Nice pick up.
