Louisville Bats extend PDC with Reds to 2018

The Louisville Bats have extended their player development contract with the Reds to 2018.  This is one of the geographic pairings that I expect to remain for a while.

This is a logical pairing. They are just a short drive down the Interstate from each other. But what happened last fall really made major and minor league teams far apart, increasing transportation costs considerably. For example, the Nashville Sounds were sort of close to the Milwaukee Brewers, but are really far away from the Oakland Athletics. I ran all 60 major and AAA minor teams through the Hungarian algorithm using miles as the distance criterion obtained from Google Maps, and using straight line (crow) distances and came up with this pairing. But you will never see this happen in a zillion years even though it saves mileage, and hence fuel costs by 62%:

    Arizona Diamondbacks Albuquerque Isotopes
Boston Red Sox Pawtucket Red Sox
    Chicago Cubs Indianapolis Indians
    Chicago White Sox Nashville Sounds
    Cincinnati Reds Louisville Bats
    Cleveland Indians Columbus Clippers
Colorado Rockies Colorado Springs Sky Sox
    Detroit Tigers Toledo Mud Hens
    Houston Astros Round Rock Express
Kansas City Royals Oklahoma City Redhawks
    Los Angeles Dodgers Fresno Grizzlies
    Miami Marlins Charlotte Knights
    Milwaukee Brewers Iowa Cubs Brewers
    Minnesota Twins Omaha Storm Chasers
New York Mets Scranton Wilkes-Barre Railriders
    New York Yankees Syracuse Chiefs

I am posting this again. My original post was missing several teams.
