The Tennessee Smokies have announced that they will change their name to the Knoxville Smokies in 2024 when they open their new ballpark. This means they will be going back to the name that they used from 1993-1999, which they changed in 2000 when they opened the ballpark in Sevierville, TN. I’ve never liked the names that use state names, so I’m glad that they are going back to using Knoxville.
