It’s now pretty much a done deal that the Yakima Bears will be playing in Hillsboro, OR next season. This will mark the return of baseball to the Portland, Oregon area.
Some other relocation discussion involving the Portland area has another Northwest League team moving to Milwaukie, OR. A move would be made for the 2014 season if this goes through.
Another move in discussion has the Tucson Padres moving to El Paso in 2014. Tucson was intended to be a temporary home for the Padres AAA affiliate until a stadium was built in Escondido, CA, but since those plans didn’t materialize, other options are being explored.
