During the Carolina League Playoff game on Friday, September 8, 2006 between the Frederick Keys and Wilmington Blue Rocks, Blue Rocks Pitcher Mike Rozier was struck in the head with a batted ball. It was agonizing to watch as he rolled around on the field in pain. After attempting to walk off the field with assistance from teammates, he was unable to do so and had to be taken off the field in an ambulance. He was taken to the hospital and released the following day.
